Is being single such a bad thing in our young lives? Are we too focused or shall I say too desperate on having somebody to call a "lover"? I would be lying by saying that I don't wish that I had someone to be my Valentine but, to be honest why do we as single people and maybe some couples as well harp on just one day out of the whole year? Why should Valentine's day be defined as the only day to actually have or find love? Being a single person I guess I would be singing a different tune if I was coupled up but, I think this is an idea that all people whether single or in a relationship can relate to. Our love status or lack of one should not be defined on the basis of not having a significant other. Limiting ourselves and questioning why we don't have a special someone at the moment does nothing for us but make the situation more depressing and stressful.
Just because we may be single now doesn't mean we will be single forever. We as people must drop the bad habits of feeling alone and sad on a day that of course was created on the basis of love. Loving ourselves first is the true key. We have to learn to be content and happy with our own personal love status before we add another person to the equation. So single people please celebrate the day of love with yourself if you wish and be in love with who you are as a human being. Finding a true love will come. As I said before love takes time but we also must remember the old saying of how one cannot love others if we don't love ourselves. Once we introduce and embrace the love that we have for ourselves our whole outlook will begin to change.
We will then see the true definition of what love is and learn how to harness it within ourselves. Valentine's day should no longer be the day of depressing thoughts of not having a significant other if you are single. Enjoy the love you have for yourself, from your family, or your friends. I promise when you realize that you have that much love around you, feeling lonely on Valentine's day or any other day will be a thing of the past. In the end I'm just saying.....
